Or if you want to ask if there is a bank nearby. In this case use ‘HAY’ which means there is/there are and you make it into a question by raising you voice a little.
- ¿Hay un banco por aquí? [Is there a bank near by?]
- Si allí hay un banco [yes, there , there is a bank]
Or if you want to ask for the whereabouts of the place you are looking for:
- ¿Hay una playa cerca de aquí? [Is there a beach nearby?]
- No , la playa está lejos de aquí [No the beach if far away from here]
Note: In Spanish you can transform a statement into a question just make your voice rise slightly at the beginning when asking a question.
